We Know What We’re Doing!

It’s been awhile, hasn’t it?

In the last post, I left you wondering what we’d be doing in November. We didn’t know ourselves, really.

That’s changed. We are now planning on shooting a trailer for one of our favorite books. This is something we’re really excited about. Perhaps we’ll post some photos from the shoot and let you guess which book!

Plus, while we’re all together in November, we plan on discussing another interesting idea. No details on that one yet, but maybe you’ll get to hear some later.

Exciting New Projects

At this point, our sci-fi script is on hold while we take an indefinite break to work on “Other Things.” What other things?

Well, at the very least, we’re doing some projects for Simply Charlotte Mason in November. Those will be fun and challenging. We’re hoping to push the quality up from previous attempts.

What else? We were working on a short, but the script called for a couple of actors we didn’t have. So we tossed that out, and now, bringing back a catchphrase from the iSundae II days, we are working on short, fun projects. And no, we can’t tell you much about them, because we’ve brainstormed a whole page of ideas and we have no idea which one(s) we’ll pick.

Video for Incredibooks.com

You may be unaware that, in addition to making movies, we also host a book review site, Incredibooks.com. It’s time for the annual Summer Read-a-Thon there, so our Phantom Moose brains concocted this introduction video:

Still Writing, Writing, Writing

This is just a very quick update on our latest film project. We were all together in the same house for two weeks, so we did a lot of hashing out ideas, getting feedback from our parents, and generally making sure the treatment worked.

As a result of all this, we ended up with the impression that our story is good, but we need to sit down and work on our characters before we start scripting. That’s where the project stands at this point.

One last mysterious note on the project: We tossed around some title ideas, and though nothing positive has materialized yet, we may have a potential working title.

One last note from me: I’ve just requested from the library a few good-looking books on various aspects of filmmaking. Perhaps there will be some reviews soon.

Treatment First Draft is Done!

Yesterday, we spent an hour revising our treatment. It turned out that our ending was very lame, so the bulk of our time was spent working out how to do that better. Rebekah had a great idea that required a bit of reworking at the beginning, but it was well worth it!
